A Lesson to Learn pt. 3 (Kotori)

Kotori raised her eyebrows in surprise. "Really? How come?" Kotori asked.

"A person can't just disappear Kotori. At the time I didn't think Death City existed, and neither does the rest of the world. You can look on any map from the outside world, you'll see the desert, but not Death City. Even if you were to use a computer from the outside world and look up DWMA or Death City, there are 0 results on this exact city.
That's why people don't think it's real. I falsely killed myself in a car crash in order to leave without being noticed. No one would think a dead man could run away." Keisuke takes out a cigarette and lights it, feeling the madness well up inside of him.

"That's true but why did you run away?" Kotori asked curiously. Then added, "Unless that's personal". Kotori wasn't nosy.

"Let's say I had a less than ideal childhood and leave it at that. I also should mention that I wanted to prove death city's existence. However, when I when nearly died in the desert I promised to Death that I wouldn't reveal the city, and then the city was revealed to me." The way Keisuke put that last part made it wound like some religious thing even though it clearly wasn't.

Kotori nodded to say she understood and she turned to Jun and asked, "So were you born in Death City or elsewhere too?" Since they all had nothing to do (at least she didn't), she might as well make up a conversation.

"Death city. Sadly though I'm not a weapon or meister, so I never went to DWMA other than for normal academics." Jun seemed to answer a little too quick. Almost the second Kotori's question ended Jun answered. This normally proves guiltily of something.

Kotori looked at Jun thoughfully. "Wow...that was fast," Kotori thought to herself while looking at Jun. Then she laughed in a fake manner, "Oops my bad! It's not a good thing to stare huh?"

"Your a meister right.. Kotori your name was? So you can see souls then, am I right?" Jun says almost speaking still normally for a subject that Jun seemed to care about.

Kotori nodded. "Yes I can," Kotori replied back with a tiny hint of pride (even if meister are supposed to be able too) but you can barely hear it.

"When you walked in did you read my soul?" It seemed like an odd thing to ask, but nothing's wrong with being overly cautious (at times). At least that's how it seemed to be with Jun.

"Well....to be honest, I did sense a witch soul but then soon after it just disappeared. Though I suspect it might be yo- ahem I mean I didn't pay much attention to yours," Kotori said uneasily. She was about to say, 'Though I suspect it might be you' but that will cause a whole lot of trouble.

"Alright then. Keisuke just don't put too much pressure on that ankle. Perhaps we could talk in the infirmary later Kotori?" Jun said leaving the room.

Kotori looked up and replied back while waving, "Oh, sure. See you then!".

"I wonder what she has to tell me," Kotori wondered aloud.

"Oh yes, Kotori. Is there something you wanted to ask me? I don't believe we scheduled training today. Keisuke said question Kotori's reasons for being here.

"Oh yeah, I wanted to ask about the raw madness part but I think I have an answer for that," Kotori replied back a bit sheepsihly.

"Alright then. If you think you've answered your own question, then you should go see Jun in the infirmary. Keisuke didn't entirely believe Kotori, but he didn't want to push anything. Keisuke stomped out what was left of the cigarette.

"Okay," Kotori agreed as she headed towards the door. "Bye Keisuke!" she said before heading towards the infirmary.

Jun arrived at the infirmary just short time ago. The layout of the room doesn't appear to have changed at all sense medusa was the nurse. There was a layer fondest on the files, but other wise it was clean.

Not too long after, Kotori entered the infirmary. "Hi Jun," Kotori said as soon as she saw her.

"Hey Kotori. Now about my question that I had to ask you." Jun closed the door behind Kotori and blocked it with a chair sense the lock didn't work anymore. "You saw my soul, didn't you?"

"Yeah," Kotori admitted. "She really must be a witch then," Kotori thought to herself.

Jun smiles and laughs a bit. "You realize you have no way to keep yourself safe right?"

Kotori eyed Jun carefully. "Are you suggesting that you're thinking about killing me?" Kotori asked in a normal tone. You wouldn't be able to tell if she was scared or just taunting her.

"I can tell what your planning. But yes, I am. If you take that information to Lord Death though, I'll be sure that you will die. Just one student's word won't be entirely enough anyway." Jun seemed to have everything already figured out.

Kotori nodded. "Seems fair; I mean it's not like it'll long to find you anyway," Kotori smiled like she didn't even care in a thing in the world.
